SR&ED Industry Specific Information Seminar is Now Open for Registration

Do you have issues concerning  SR&ED eligibility criteria in software and information technology sector? The CRA announces registration for the SR&ED Industry Information seminar is now open as of December 14, 2012.

The most contentious area in the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is easily in the software and information technology sector. Over the last twenty years many of the ground-breaking rulings in SR&ED have been related to the costs of developing new products and processes in this sector. With a sharp divide in the opinions regarding the eligibility of bleeding-edge and trailing-edge technologies, this seminar is a must-attend for anyone interested in ensuring their claim goes through with minimal difficulties.

Here is the update posted to their website this morning:

Industry specific information seminars explain the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program’s eligibility criteria as they relate to a specific industry. These seminars are intended for those claimants who have some general knowledge of the SR&ED program and are suitable for technical staff.

The seminar will include presentations and case studies. The focus will be on issues affecting SR&ED claims in the software and information technology sector including recent budget changes.

Please note that although this seminar is free, pre-registration is required, as seating is limited to two registrants per organization. A maximum of 90 registrants will be accepted. No refreshments will be provided.

Be sure to register ASAP – spaces are likely to fill up quickly with tax professionals and neophytes alike. This one-a-year session is not to be missed! The SREDucation team will be on-site to listen in for those unable to attend.
