The CRA’s Updated SR&ED Contact Us Page
As of June 22, 2023, the CRA has updated their “Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentives (SR&ED) Contact Us” page.
The most notable change is that the Edmonton Tax Services Offices has been removed from the SR&ED contact list, this means that claimants within Alberta, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan, now use the services of the Fraser Valley and Interior Tax Services Office (originally named the Fraser Valley Tax Services Office) located in British Columbia. Previously only claimants within British Columbia and the Yukon utilized the services of this Tax Office.
Another notable change now places Nunavut and Ontario SR&ED claimants under the care of the Northern Ontario Tax Services Office instead of the Toronto SR&ED Tax Services Office and the Greater Toronto Area West Tax Services Office respectively.
The CRA has moved away from specific regional contact offices opting instead for a simple SR&ED contact TSO system organized by province. The new SR&ED Contact Us page also takes a step further and now includes the operating hours for each tax services office. The table below includes all the contact details listed for each province on the CRA’s new contact page:
